Stairway to Heaven
Led Zeppelin says hello: "Can you hear the wind blow, and did you know ... Your stairway lies on the whispering wind!" as the English rock titans sing in their cult hit "Stairway to Heaven." This obstacle is your "Stairway to Heaven" - or your "Stairway to Hell"? Exactly 1,000 steps with an extreme incline up to the Erzberg peak (326hm). For comparison: The stairs at “Schlossberg” in Graz has 260 steps, the Jump at Bergisel in Innsbruck 455!

WEMCO Ruin & Fireplace
The Wemco Ruin looks like an ancient Aztec temple, but was actually an ore processing plant with a capacity of 400 tons. Wemco's chimney is your entry point to the 24-km loop. Strength, courage and skill are required to overcome the four-meter-high concrete wall, which is overhanging on the first two meters. Only three old iron rungs are available to help you climb up.

The Erzberg Peak
Congratulations - you have conquered the Erzberg. Only participants of the EXTREME distance can call themselves real "summit winners"! After the exertions of the "Stairway to Heaven" you have more than earned this victory. On top of the iron pyramid you can enjoy the fantastic 360-degree panoramic view, which is an absolute privilege because the summit usually is a highly restricted area.
